Negative Nonsense
The world is made up of two different kinds of people–those who see the glass “half-empty,” and those who see it “half-full.” It comes as no surprise that the “half-full” viewers are the happiest! Filling your mind with negative nonsense is not only bad for your personality, but it doesn’t make you very endearing to others–and more importantly . . . separates you from God! It’s impossible to be negative and have a Christ-like attitude. The Bible says in Proverbs 15:13, “A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.” And in Psalm 68:3 it says, “But let the righteous be glad; let them exult before God; Yes, let them rejoice with gladness.” Wow! It doesn’t get clearer than that–God wants His children to be glad! No matter what crisis you are going through or disappointing event that threatens to ruin your day–give it to Jesus and go forward with a positive attitude knowing God’s in full control and He has you covered. God has the answer for you in James 5:13, “. . . Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.” There’s no way you can be grumpy–if you’re singing praises to Jesus! When you find yourself having a bad day and you’re struggling to find the joy–ask God for an attitude adjustment and then start singing and praising Jesus! Text: Proverbs 17:22, Proverbs 15:30, Ecclesiastes 11:9, Acts 27:25
