God’s Instruction Manual
When you are standing in the crossroads not knowing whether to turn to the left or to the right, Christians know to go to their knees for Holy Spirit guidance. But sometimes it’s easy to forget the importance of listening to His still small voice. Have you ever pleaded and pleaded with God for an answer and felt only “silence” in return? It may even cause you to question why He is not answering. Perhaps you have prayed, “Dear God, please tell me what to do?” or “Lord, I really want to do Your will, but I don’t know what that is–please show me.” “God, are You even up there? Why are you not answering me?” But what many fail to realize is that prayer is a two-way street. You can’t do all the talking and call it a conversation. Real communion with God requires listening as well. The truth is, He may have already answered but you haven’t sought out His voice through His Holy Word. As you read the Scriptures, write down the action items God wants you to do and then go back over your list while asking yourself, “Am I doing what God wants me to do?” “Is this God’s answer for me?” For instance: Philippians 2:14, “Do everything without grumbling or arguing.” Ephesians 5:1, “Imitate Him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray continually.” Philippians 4:8, “Think about what is pure, holy and right.” Colossians 3:2, “Focus my heart on heavenly things.” 1 Timothy 3:2, “Live without reproach.” Colossians 4:5, “Make the most of every opportunity.” Colossians 4:2, “Be devoted in prayer.” These are just a few of God’s instructions to all His children. The Bible is filled with advice for it is God’s “Instruction Manual” for living a joy-filled life according to His will. Make it a habit to spend time with God each day–both talking AND listening. Proverbs 16:9 NKJV - A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. 

Psalm 37:23-24 NKJV - The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds [him with] His hand.
