Speak Lord, for Thy Servant Heareth

God doesn’t speak in complicated ways but rather in a manner that is easy to understand. Why is it then that some still question if they are really hearing God’s voice? Is it perhaps answers to prayer is seen as “coincidences” instead of discerning His power at work? Sometimes God allows things to happen to get your attention and bring you to the point where you are ready to listen to Him and respond with; “Speak Lord, for Thy servant heareth.” If you do all the talking when praying and fail to listen–you miss the guidance of your heavenly Father. Instead of telling God all your troubles and then telling Him how to solve them–try listening for His answers and you can be sure God’s solution is far better than what you were asking for. God knows the end from the beginning and He alone knows what is best for you. The Bible says in Luke 11:13, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Never ask someone elses advice before asking God first, for what God thinks is far more important than what your friends think! Determine today to be a good listener when communicating with God, and instead of demanding your prayers be answered “your way,” . . . remember to say, “Speak Lord, for Thy servant heareth,” and then wait for His answer. Text: 1 Samuel 3:9, Psalm 107:9, Jeremiah 33:3

Bible Texts:
1 Samuel 3:9 NKJV - Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, 'Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears.' " So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

Psalm 107:9 NKJV - For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV - 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'
