The Devil's Lies

It’s much easier to trust in Jesus when everything is going smoothly in your life–but when things turn sour and you’re overwhelmed with the drama of your own heartache–it’s not quite as easy! However, real faith is exercised not only in the good times, but in the tough times too. It is when you are going through your darkest hour- that you need to cling to Jesus the most! You can be sure that Satan will take advantage of your weakness and he knows all the buttons to push. If you’re not careful, you start believing all Satan’s negative thoughts such as: “God doesn’t love me.” “God’s trying to punish me.” “This is all God’s fault.” “I’m a failure.” “Life isn’t even worth living.” and on and on. But don’t believe the devil’s lies for even one moment! Strengthen your faith by going to God’s Word and claiming His promises. You can fight the enemy with God’s sword of truth so never forget that Jesus is there for you. Don’t underestimate the power of God. The Bible says in 2 Peter 2:9, “The Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials.” and in Psalm 91:14-15 we’re told, “Because He loves me, says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.” It just doesn’t get better than that! Belonging to Christ is a position of strength because God promises to take care of “His children.” Give your burdens, troubles and heartache to Jesus and put your full faith and trust in Him–for He is the only one who has the power to save you! Text: Psalm 34:19, Psalm 40:1-3, Psalm 18:2

Bible Texts:
Psalm 34:19 NKJV - Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

Psalm 40:1-3 NKJV - To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth--Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.

Psalm 18:2 NKJV - The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
