Forgive, Forget, Move On
When someone has mistreated you, hurt your feelings, or has wronged you–the best thing to do is forgive. Don’t wait an hour, a day, a month or even years . . . but ask God to put forgiveness in your heart– immediately. The longer you harbor unforgiveness in your heart the more miserable you will be! But even worse–if you don’t forgive–you will lose all happiness on this earth–and in the earth to come–because you won’t be there. Jesus said in Matthew 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” It doesn’t get clearer than that! Sometimes, the pain of injustice is so great, that it is not humanly possible to forgive–much less love that person. Yet the Bible says in Luke 6:27:36, “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. . . ” You see, God wants you to love your fellow man–and not just those who are nice to you! He wants you to “love” your enemies too! So how can you possibly forgive when you’ve been hurt so deeply? The answer is–by asking God to put ‘love’ in your heart and then, love them with “God’s love!” Yes, you ‘can’ have the courage to forgive by claiming God’s promise in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” for God will give you the strength to forgive, forget, and move on with Jesus! Follow this advice in Colossians 3:13, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Text: Proverbs 24:17-20, Matthew 5:43-48, Romans 12:20, 1 Peter 3:9

Bible Texts:
Proverbs 24:17-20 NKJV - Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; Lest the LORD see it, and it displease Him, And He turn away His wrath from him. Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the wicked; For there will be no prospect for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked will be put out.

Matthew 5:43-48 NKJV - "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? "And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Romans 12:20 NKJV - Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."

1 Peter 3:9 NKJV - not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
