Life Is Short
Everyone has but one life to live and only one life, and it is your choices that will determine whether or not it is full and satisfying or miserable. Having said that, it’s important to note that not everyone is born with the same privileges. Some are born into loving homes while others grow up in dysfunctional families and sometimes no family at all. But no matter what your circumstances were growing up, as an adult you have the power to change the direction of how you want to live the rest of your life. There are many who were raised to love Jesus, but as adults strayed away; they allowed Satan to take control which always leads to misery. And those who were raised in less-than-perfect homes sometimes use that as an excuse to never reach for something better. Instead of succumbing to discouragement and self-pity because you didn’t grow up with the same advantages of someone else, decide that your life will be different, and then take the steps to make it happen! It is your life and only you can change it by allowing God to come in and take control. Don’t be afraid to give your life to Jesus for He is the only One who can give you the abundant life that He wants you to have. The Bible says in John 10:10, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." God wants you to have a joy-filled life. He wants you to be happy, and He doesn’t want you to be crippled with fear! Claim the promise in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Fear of change can sometimes stop people cold from becoming who God wants them to be. It’s important to remember that when you are writing the story of your life, don’t let anyone else hold the pen and don’t listen to people whom the devil sends to discourage you. Life is too short to allow fear to make your decisions. The Bible says in Isaiah 41:10, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Everything you ever wanted is on the other side of that great big mountain of fear. Thankfully, you don’t have to climb over that mountain alone. God is with you. Psalm 9:9-10 says, “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Life is too short to wait any longer. Invite God to be the Lord of your life–starting today! Text: 2 Timothy 1:7, Psalm 23:4, Hebrews 13:6, Psalm 16:11
Bible Texts:
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
