Spiritual Fitness
There’s a lot of focus these days on being healthy. You can read books, surf the Internet, listen to podcasts, and watch videos and television programs to learn the best fitness routines, good sources of nutrition, and the healthiest food to eat. In fact, millions of dollars are spent on teaching and learning how to obtain a healthy lifestyle. But can you imagine how much better this world would be if people spent as much money and research on how to be spiritually healthy as they do for obtaining a healthy body? The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:8, “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” In other words staying spiritually fit will reap benefits not only for your life here on earth but most importantly for all eternity. Develop habits that will keep you motivated to exercise your spiritual muscles. Keep your Bible close by and in plain sight so that you will read it often. Set time each day for worship and devotions. And don’t forget daily quiet time to not only talk to God but listen for Holy Spirit guidance. You alone have control over your schedule and unless you make your spiritual health a high priority, you’ll backslide until you no longer have a relationship with God at all. That’s why it’s important to stay healthy spiritually and the results will be manifested in all that you do and say to bring God honor and glory. TEXT: Psalm 73:26, Hebrews 12:1, Ephesians 6:10-13, Romans 12:1

Bible Texts:
Psalm 73:26 NKJV - My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Hebrews 12:1 NKJV - Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Romans 12:1 NKJV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
