Understanding God’s Will
It’s not always easy to discern what God’s will is for our lives. Of course, we want to know “the plan” and can be quite upset with God if He doesn’t give us the answer we want–or in the timeframe we think it should be. But God wants us to trust Him and lean on Him fully, and that means “patiently waiting upon the Lord.” The Bible says in Psalm 37:7, “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” Sometimes we find answers in God’s Holy Word, while other times the answers come in the unfolding of events, the words of a godly friend, or directly from Holy Spirit guidance. One thing for sure–is that it is always God’s will for us to stay close to Him. We’re told in John 16:13, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth.” One thing you can count on for sure is: you don’t have to “understand” God’s will when you lean fully on Him . . . because you just can’t mess up when you let God lead. And don’t forget that Jesus is not a failure and He will never take you down a path you should not go! Text: Jeremiah 6:16, Philippians 1:9-10, 1 Corinthians 12:4,10, 1 Kings 3:9, 28

Bible Texts:
Jeremiah 6:16 NKJV - Thus says the LORD: "Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'

Philippians 1:9-10 NKJV - And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

1 Corinthians 12:4, 10 NKJV - There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ... to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

1 Kings 3:9, 28 NKJV - "Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" ... And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.
