God of Compassion
Parents who love their children are full of compassion. If their child falls down–they comfort them, giving not only first aid, but reassuring hugs as well. If a friend or family member calls with devastating news–you’re quick to offer sympathies, consoling them with expressions of love, assurances of how much you care, and offering to help. These are natural human responses towards those you love. The keyword here is “love.” God loves ‘you’ more than anyone else ever could and He is longsuffering, gracious, loving and compassionate towards you. When you’re having a bad day or facing a crisis,–God wants you to run to Him first! He alone is able to comfort you, restore you and give you the strength that you need. And here’s a big bonus: you can tell God anything, without fear of condemnation, abandonment, or worry that He will stop loving you. He is full of grace and mercy and offers not only comfort but promises of a better life with Him in heaven for all eternity! No one other than God can do that! Whenever your heart is breaking–give your burden to Jesus and allow Him to heal your heart–for He is a God of compassion, who loves you more than you could ever possibly know or comprehend! Text: Exodus 33:19, Psalm 103:13, Psalm 86:15, 2 Corinthians 1:3
