Spiritual Death

Someone once said, “Spiritual Death is only one compromise away,” and that is so true, because the moment you choose not to live up to what you believe–you are lost! It’s so easy to make excuses, and justify in your mind that it’s okay to compromise. But, the truth is, you can rationalize yourself right into hell! It starts off with little things, such as stretching the truth on a resume to make it seem like you are more qualified than you really are, or calling in “sick” when you really wanted a day with your friends. Soon, the compromises get easier and easier, until it feels so natural you no longer feel the guilt–and the devil wins! The Bible encourages us in Ephesians 6:14 to, “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.” And in Isaiah 33:15-16, “He who walks righteously and speaks what is right . . . this is the man who will dwell on the heights.” God makes it very clear how He values honesty, purity and faithfulness–so stand firm for the right! Claim victory in Jesus by staying faithful to God’s Holy Word, never yielding to compromise! Text: Proverbs 16:8, Psalm 51:6, John 14:6
