Look for the Good

There are people in the world who are always looking for something better and are never quite satisfied with what they have. They see their co-worker get a promotion and automatically wonder why it wasn’t them. Their neighbor comes home with a bright red sports car and all they can think about is their own ten-year-old, rusted-out vehicle. Sometimes people don’t see the blessings in their own lives until they lose them. They mess up something good by looking for something better–only to end up with something much worse. Someone once said, “Not every day is a good day–live anyway. Not everyone you love, will love you back–love anyway. Not everyone will tell the truth–be honest anyway. Not all deals are fair–play fair anyway.” The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Instead of moping around feeling depressed because you don’t have the life you wish you had, start counting your blessings. You might be surprised just how blessed you are! Helen Keller was blind, but no one ever heard her complain. She once said, “So much has been given to me, I have not time to ponder over that which has been denied.” Look for something positive every day, even if some days you have to look a little harder, and don’t wait for things to get easier, simpler, or better. Life will always be complicated. Learn to be happy right now. Otherwise, before you know it, you’ll be at the end of your life facing a mountain of regrets. God has a special plan for each of His children but most people will never know what that is because they are not willing to give up control. The truth is, there’s no better plan for your life than “God’s plan so don’t delay any longer–let go of regret and surrender your whole heart to Jesus today and take His outstretched hand. You just can’t be miserable when you’re walking with Jesus! Text: Psalm 34:8, Ephesians 1:3-4, 2 Peter 1:3, Proverbs 16:20

Bible Texts:
Psalm 34:8 NKJV - Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Ephesians 1:3-4 NKJV - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

2 Peter 1:3 NKJV - as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

Proverbs 16:20 NKJV - He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.
