The word to remember this week on the Bible Bus is welcome. As Jesus continues His journey toward the cross, He welcomes everyone He meets—and us today—into a personal relationship with Him. While He fishes with the disciples, heals sickness, or forgives sins, Jesus invites each person to know Him.

Then on Friday, an unwelcome guest barges in on a dinner hosted by the Pharisees. What will happen? Tune in this week or find out now.

Luke 4:14-43

People couldn’t make up their minds. One moment they sang, “Hosanna!”—the next, they shouted, “Crucify Him!” In Luke 4, the people of Nazareth reject Jesus as God. The Savior of the world grew up before their very eyes, and they hesitated to trust Him. Listen in to the warning not to miss out on God’s blessings. (Airs January 3, 2022)

Luke 5

Today on the Bible Bus, we’re going fishing—and we’re going to need a bigger net! Jesus provided so many fish for His disciples that their net literally snapped. In today’s lesson, discover an interesting analogy as to why the net broke. Be encouraged by how God wants to use us, and be warned of another fisherman out there named Satan. Whose hook are you on today? (Airs January 4, 2022)

Luke 6

God chooses you, but it’s your choice to follow Him. Jesus took the time to pray over His decisions. Before appointing the twelve apostles, He went up to a mountain and prayed to God all night long. Then, He chose the apostles. Learn the significance of this moment and how we can find comfort in God’s choices. (Airs January 5, 2022)

Luke 7:1-35

In Luke 7, we’ll empathize with a sick servant, mourn with a woman who lost her son, and even face some doubt with John the Baptist. Each encounter shows Jesus’ power in a new light: power over illness, power over death, and power over evil spirits. Get to know the Savior as Luke presented Him—a man of compassion, gentleness, honor, and strength. (Airs January 6, 2022)

Luke 7:36—8:56

“To whom little is forgiven, the same loves little” (Luke 7:47). The Pharisee who hosted Jesus in his home was too proud to worship Him. Whereas the woman known as a “sinner” entered boldly, broke a costly box of perfume at His feet, and worshipped with her tears. Both people were equally sinful, yet only one received forgiveness. May this story be a warm welcome to enter boldly into the forgiveness Jesus freely offers. (Airs January 7, 2022)

Sunday Sermon: When Jesus Was Tempted

(Luke 4:1-13) Although the battle with temptation may be fierce, Scripture makes it clear that our High Priest can sympathize with our weakness because He was tempted also, yet He did not sin. (Airs January 9, 2022)
