Good morning Mr. President and fellow federation family,
As some of you may or may not know I was recently appointed to the performing arts division board of directors. Currently on the table is an idea that I wanted to bring to your attention.
This idea basically consists of bringing together several states to form a regional performing arts division. I know in Ohio many people are involved in the arts and might benefit from some of the opportunities offered by the PAD.
Opportunities like, a $1000 scholarship to be given away at each national convention, a spot on one of the performing arts produced CD’s and many other opportunities.
Just so you know, The Performing Arts Division is a division of the National Federation of the Blind created in 2000 to bring together blind and visually impaired people
Who have a common and professional interest in the entertainment field? The Performing Arts Division, or PAD, serves as a promotional and networking resource
To help its members achieve their artistic and professional goals. The Division provides artistic outlets for our members while raising media awareness
For talented blind entertainers of all genres by sponsoring live performances and projects. The PAD hopes to foster a vital artistic community, connecting
the National Federation of the Blind to people and patrons it could never have reached otherwise.
In short the regional division will be an extension of the national group and will be run as if it were any other division. Please get back to me and let me know if this is something Ohio whishes to take part in.

Subject: [Ohio-talk] Next Years Convention

I would like to announce that our 64th NFBO Convention will be held at the Ramada Plaza in Columbus from November 5 to the 7th 2010.

Remember that we will be trying to cut cost and thus the Board meeting will be later on that Friday so that we might be able to save some room reservations on Thursday night.

We will go with this hotel one more year and then we will more than likely move on to somewhere else probably for the next 2 years after that.

Put it on your calendars please?
