            Dear colleagues: 

            Here is your Race for Independence weekly tip about how to make the "ask."  We are now one week away from the National Convention in Dallas.  In the coming week, ask someone to make a donation to the Imagination Fund.   

            Some of us have already had tremendous success generating contributions in the 2010 Race for Independence.  But others still have yet to pull in their first contribution.  We need your help to have a successful campaign.   

            If you have not made your first "ask," now is a good time to do it.  Send e-mails and letters, make phone calls, and talk to people you know about the Race for Independence and see if you can reach your goal of $250 in the coming week. 

            It is important to remember that many successful Imaginators have raised $250 or more in one week's time, and you can too.  Please make the "ask" and let's head into Dallas with a great deal of momentum and enthusiasm about the programs of the National Federation of the Blind. 

            Come on:  Let's race!
