Major Economic Development Initiative
to Expand Small Business Opportunities for
Ohioans with Disabilities to be Announced Oct. 6
Announcement planned during disability employment celebration
The Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission (RSC) and the Ohio Department of Development (DOD) will announce a major investment increasing services to small business owners and entrepreneurs with disabilities. The announcement will be made during the National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) celebration at the Ohio Statehouse on October 6.
The NDEAM celebration, hosted by RSC and the Ohio Governor's Council on People with Disabilities (GCPD), increases public awareness of the contributions and skills of Ohio workers with disabilities by highlighting programs that will increase employment and entrepreneurship opportunities throughout the state. The event will also acknowledge the RSC's 40th anniversary.

What: Announcement of partnership to benefit small business owners with disabilities during the annual National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebration. Also, enjoy live music and Braille Script Ohio performed by the Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Panthers; join the Pledge of Allegiance led by the students of the Ohio State School for the Deaf; and meet disability-friendly employers, Ohio's Small Business Development Centers, service providers and disability advocacy organizations.
