Subject: arts project reach out to NFBO

Hello,

My name is Li Barrett, and I am trying to spearhead a project in Columbus
Ohio geared towards uniting the arts communities with interested parties in
the disabled community. The first project that I'm trying to take on is
getting books from local writers converted to audio books for free
distribution to the blind. The first question I have is; would this service,
free of course, be desired in the blind community? If so, what kind of
literature is there a demand for? Eventually I hope to use the project to
allow the disabled a way to reach out to the world in general- first by
providing equipment and transcriptions for the blind to tell their own
stories (fact and fictional), and I even have an Idea in mind of how to
teach blind to "paint". Do you think that these ideas are something that
could improve the lives of the blind and do you have any additional input as
far as insights that would be helpful when preparing these items to the
community?
