The Director of the Cleveland Society for the Blind was previously in
charge of a prison or group of prisons. He is a very practical, no
nonsense, bottom line kind of person. Curious choices in both cases.

Governor Kasich Announces the Appointment of Kevin L.
Miller as Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission Administrator
Columbus,OH--Ohio Governor John Kasich appointed Kevin
L.
Miller as the administrator of the Ohio Rehabilitation Services
Commission,
effective January 18, 2011.
Miller brings 17 years of state government experience
to
the Kasich Administration. Miller has served as the executive director
of
the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology since 2005. He also served in
positions
of increasing responsibility, including as chief of staff, at the
Department
of Youth Services from 1993-2005.
"I've had the privilege of serving Ohio for nearly two
decades in multiple capacities and I'm grateful to Governor Kasich for
this
opportunity that allows me to continue serving Ohioans," Miller said.
"I
look forward to applying these experiences to partner with individuals
who
have disabilities so they can get the workforce training necessary to
lead
happy, productive lives--while bolstering Ohio's economy at the same
time."
Miller is also an active member of his community. He
serves as a member the National Autism Society, the Shamrock Club of
Columbus and as the president of the Mark J. Youngpeter Memorial
Scholarship
Fund. He also served as a member of city council for West Jefferson from
1992-1996.
