[Ohio-talk] Hotel Accommodations at State Convention

I thought that the staff did very well. They are pretty quick to try to
change things when they think we are having trouble. The modification of the
buffet line for the breakfast was a good example. Maybe we want them to set
things up on each table, but consider these things. Doing so takes staff
time that we have not paid for. They might well build in that cost in
future, assuming that we need the help and they have to pay for what we
need, so they will pass the cost along. A Alot of our members do not think
they can manage a simple buffet line. Some people cannot for very good
reasons. That is why many of us help others as we go through the process of
collecting food. Some people learn that they can manage a line like this by
doing so. Some who cannot do the job learn that it is not blindness but
unsteady hands or balance trouble or other problems that cause the
difficulty. It is always good to reduce blindness to its true dimensions.

As I say, time constraints at the leadership breakfast may make the set-up
that we had a good idea, even if it does cost more and confuse staff members
about our true abilities. I am going on record as preferring that the NAPUB
breakfast remain a self-serve event for our good and the staff's.

Hello Fellow Ohioans!

I hope you all had a wonderful experience at the Ohio State Convention!
While it is still fresh in your minds, I would like to know what suggestions
you may have to make next year's event more pleasurable. How was the
check-in process? Were you able to get answers to your questions from the
staff in a timely and satisfactory manner? Was the dog relief area
satisfactory? Were the meeting rooms adequate? How was the restaurant staff
when serving you? Please let me know what can be approved apon for next
year.

Thanks again to Mary Poole for all her years of service as Convention Chair!

Sheri Albers
