Inmates Give Back Through Braille
Story and Image from the Ventura County Star

When Casey Tuley leaves Ironwood State Prison in January after nine years of
incarceration, he will be the first of 21 inmates in a training program to
walk out as a certified braille transcriber.
Glen Kuck, an administrator for the San Bernardino college district, said he
was impressed by the inmates' professionalism and dedication..."It's one
thing to produce braille, but there are stories behind the people who do it
as well as the people it goes to.  This is an awesome project that really
touches everybody." Learn More »

You're Fine, Valentine!

This year, NBP's print/braille Valentines feature a whimsical, homemade felt
Valentine-heart face and the words, "You're fine, Valentine!" in print and
braille.
Friends and family of all ages love to receive a Valentine with a touch of
braille on it, and these even include a handy braille de-coder on the
reverse side. They are great to share not only with blind classmates and
friends, but also with sighted friends as a fun way to learn about braille.
