The following message is from Ron Gardner, Chairman of the Membership
Committee:

Every affiliate president is encouraged to attend or appoint someone to
attend the Membership Committee meeting in Dallas, Texas. A few people have
been appointed by Dr. Maurer to serve on this committee but we want every
affiliate to be represented. It is scheduled for July 1, Sunday evening, in
the Sapphire Room from 8:00 - 9:30 PM. Recently, with Dr. Maurer's
encouragement a tool has been created that almost guarantees membership
building and retention. This tool will be available for the first time at
this years Membership Committee meeting. Every affiliate and our National
Organization have as a priority goal to increase membership and retain the
membership we already have.

Jessica Beecham from the Colorado Center for the Blind expressed a desire to
help in the planning and facilitating of this meeting. We have an agenda
that includes specific suggestions and training on building our membership.
We also have a tool never before available and we want each affiliate to
have this tool. There is a cost of $10.00 for this tool and, in all
sincerity and candor it is a tool that is priceless and will assist every
affiliate president, chapter president or member who uses it to build and
retain membership.

This is not a fund raiser. We hope to at least recoup the cost of creating
it.

We look forward to seeing you at this years annual Membership Committee
meeting.
