Hi Sheri,
It's not the regulations, it's the issues which concern the directors when they are considering someone's safety.
For the person with Developmental Disabilities the need for so much additional help was the problem.
I think the shelters in BG are smaller and can accommodate someone easier.
I have volunteered at one of our shelters and I have worked with young women who have stayed at some of them in our area.
These women were homeless and pregnant.
One of the main concerns expressed by these women was a fear of being harmed.
I did notice too that there was no extra assistance given to an elderly women staying at one of the shelters.
She was using a walker and was expected to do everything for herself.
These are just some experiences I have had in Toledo.
I hope other areas have not had these experiences.
Personally I would help a blind person in our Chapter was allowing them to stay with us.
I couldn't help the person in need of shelter here because I didn't have rom at the time.
