Girl, I know all of this. I wasn't put here yesterday. Thanks. I said,
the arbitration was used when I needed funds to go to Florida nothing
else. Arbatration had nothing to do with the Hallo-Sketti Dinner. Chill
Out girl friend!

Hello Wanda,
You should probably avoid saying anything about helping a blind person. The
question usually comes up when fund-raisers are held purporting that they
help blind people.
For example, when a group said they were helping the blind and no evidence
existed that the organization helped blind people this group's claims were
questioned. Look at Dissolution to show how money is to be disbursed.
Some of the rules are not in the Constitution but are in the Requirements
for 501c3 Organizations.
Those of us who have been to Leadership Seminars on the State or National
Level have been taught the requirements for 501c3 Organizations.
There are also some National Policies which have been put into place.
Richard is not just being Arbitrary when it comes to his Stance on
Fund-raising.
You are not the first person in the NFB who has been told that something is
against NFB Rules.
The rules also have State Components and the NFB undergoes a regular Audit
and has to fill out forms to be submitted to the Attorney General's Office.
Chapters and Divisions also must have their records in order. We can also be
asked to submit materials to the Attorney General's Office.
The NFB of Ohio President or the National Office can ask for records at any
time.
You cannot just raise money through the NFB for Personal expenses to attend
an event.
This has nothing to do with Richard being Arbitrary. He is charged with
following certain rules whether you like them or not.
The vote requiring members to be at the Convention before money was given
out was a Chapter Decision.
It is possible that Richard could have asked the Board to make an exception
but there may be some Internal Chapter Precedent that I do not know about.
Maybe someone took money and didn't go to the event.
