[Ohio-talk] sad news--Romeo my cat had to be put to sleep yesterday

Hi Lisa,
I had cats when I lived alone and had no problem cleaning up after them.
Cats are easier because you do not have to take them out and you can be away longer with a cat.
I'm not saying you shouldn't get a dog, I'm just saying that cats are easier when you work all day and you might want to go somewhere erthe weekend.
It's hard to lose a cat but it's good to give another cat a home.
I will be praying for you.

> Hi everyone,

> I am sad to say that my cat Romeo had to be put to sleep yesterday
> afternoon. This happened somewhere between 1 and 2 p.m. Romeo was 3
> years and 9 months.
> Bob Marquardt and I don't know after talking with the vet if he had
> diabetes, feline disease or another disease that we don't know about.
>
> As some of you may remember, I got Romeo from Sheri Albers back around
> June 28, 2010 right before going to NFB National Convention.
> It was through an NFB local chapter auction we had and I won't forget that.
> I have been crying for the last 2 days. When I came home on Friday
> after work, I noticed something seriously wrong with Romeo. He was
> lying on the floor not moving. I held him for several minutes trying to
> comfort him. He was breathing very shallow. He moved his tail very
> little but nothing else. Before I went upstairs to bed, I put him on
> the couch for the night. The next day he was still breathing but no
> moving. He gave a tiny meow but it was very weak. I called the doctor
> Friday night but he couldn't get to me until the next day. I told him
> when he came Romeo would not run away this time.
> He will be sorely missed.
> He was a very active cat until he started to lose weight, not eating
> anything but drinking lots of water until Friday when his body started
> to shut down.
> He was otherwise known as zoom zoom Romeo.
> He loved to run up and down the stairs, jumped at me and play tag, and
> a host of other activities. I love his hair being very short. He was
> soft and cuddly in the beginning but grew to become a fat cat I think.
> I don't know if I'll get another pet.
> I need some time to cope with this loss and figure out if I can do this
> all over again.
> If Bob wasn't around, I don't think I can take care of an animal by
> myself especially when it comes to keeping the place clean.
> It's hard to adjust not having a cat after spending 3 years and 9
> months being attached to a cat who expresses love to both of us. He
> kept us company and greeted us at the door when we get home for the evening.
> Take care everyone.
>
> Sincerely,
>
