Subject: Currency Readers Available September 2, 2014

Hello All;

FYI

Today I spoke with Kelly with the Bureau of Engraving and printing department which provided our members with the free currency reader at our national convention she informed me that if you are blind or visually impaired and registered with National Library Services you qualify for the currency reader and they are waiting for the inventory to be replenish by Orbit which has the contract to supply them.

Individuals can call 1-844-815-9388 on September 2, 2014 between the hours of 9am-5pm (EST) to secure the currency reader and they will mail it to you. It is worth noting that if you call Orbit for the free currency reader they will charge you for the device this is a separate program. It is also worth noting that they have the capability to cross check to prevent double dipping.

This is the information I was able to acquire although there may very well be other avenues to obtain the currency reader this is what I was informed and thought someone would care to know.

Regards,

Lee
