Hello Aleeha,
Anything can be stated on a website.
That doesn't mean that that is what the staff believe.
The website just mentions braille and then goes on to discuss other things.
There is no qualified Braille Teacher at the Sight Center and Braille is not emphasized in any way for those who need it.
I love my Braille Sense but I like having a slate and stylus to write something down because it just fits in my purse.
I can also hand someone my information in Braille if they can read it and do not have something with them.
When I want to study something sometimes I just want to read it with my fingers.
I like to have a book to read when I am in a doctor's office and by someone's bedside.
More than once, I have read something, anything, to someone who just wanted to be read to while they were in the hospital.
Br in a book is quieter than using a notetaker when I am in Church.
It is also much easier to use when I am standing at the Ambo to read Scripture for Mass.
I have used my Braille Sense for certain Prayer Meetings and classes but give me Braille on paper for many other things.
I also find myself using braille to label cans and other food items.
Let's be reasonable not every one wants or can afford an iphone or ID Mate.
