Thank you and the others for your responses to my bard question.  Haha next
time Baldacci comes out with a new book I'll give it a couple of weeks and
then hopefully it will be free.

With an author like David baldacci, you can asume they will do all 
his stuff.  It is always a best seller.  They do most best sellers, 
not all but most.

There is a collection development staff that chooses books, among 
other duties.  They read library journals and book reviews.  There is 
an advisory committee, they tend to recommend areas that should get 
more attention, rather than specirfic books.  NLS also takes 
suggestions through regional libraries.  Suggesting something isn't a 
guarantee it will be done, but it will at least get looked at.

You can also request books from Learning Ally, formerly Recording for 
the Blind and Dyslexic, and they will record stuff for you, although 
you must provide the book, I believe.
