Hi Kaiti,

On the topic of shopping assistance, I believe that one can have a good or
bad experience the first time with a new person, but the best of all
situations is if you can get the same person every time you shop who you
then can basically train to help you.
For a couple of years when my daughter was a baby and toddler I would go to
the store only when I knew this particular guy worked and always ask for
him. after a number of trips he would know what brand of cheese I liked and
which things I liked to know about that might be on sale that week. Even my
daughter who sat in the booster seat in the cart quickly became able to
point to the correct item I was asking for. Once when our usual shopper was
sick I had a new guy around and when he couldn't find an item I would ask my
daughter and she would point to it for him. Hmm, so I actually had two
shopping assistants. <smile>
from your descriptions I don't think that guy you shopped with is a good
candidate for training but hopefully you will get a better helper next time.
I have had my share of nightmarish experiences grocery shopping so certainly
relate to your story.
