[Ohio-talk] iphone and voiceover

Marian make some good points. In fact, I am writing this email by using dictation on my iPhone. Dictation and Siri will save anyone, even if they are a very confident voiceover user, a lot of time. There is a voiceover tutorial in settings which can be very helpful. I found it very useful when I was first learning the touch screen gestures. Perhaps someone you know will let you use it on their iPhone before you make a purchase. You could also look into buying a bluekeyboard. I know plenty of people who use this, blind and cited, and they all seem to like it. I know it can be used to navigate around the screen with the arrow buttons, but I do not know how well this works is I do not use it myself. Good luck.

Sent from my iPhone

If that is not the case, though it may take a little bit of time, you can master the gestures and your phone will not frustrate you rather it will be a window to the world for you.

I tried out an iphone at the apple store as well as someone else's. I know you can buy a usb keyboard, but my counselor thinks this is unnecessary. Therefore, is there any other way I can use the iphone without having to use the finger gestures? I know they make a tactile cover where you can feel the buttons, but I've yet to find the company who makes this. Anyone who has an iphone or know someone who has one, what are my options if I cannot execute the finger gestures? They just don't work for me and I would get very frustrated every time I used my phone if I had to do it this way. Any alternatives would be greatly appreciated.
