Hi all,

I am writing with information about The Road Lies Ahead, a perceptual
mobility camp for blind youth held at Camp Tuhsmeheta in Michigan.
You might have read my account of last summer's pilot program in the
fall Buckeye Bulletin. This program blends lessons in cane travel and
perceptual skills in travel with fun games and navigation activities.
The program is headed by Daniel Kish, NOMC, and his company World
Access for the Blind in partnership with Blind Vision, Inc.
Activities from last year included hiking, rock climbing, playing
audible Quidditch, practice reading tactile maps and using compasses,
working on detecting motion through target practice, and more. Plenty
of time is left for fun and socializing among campers and staff after
the dinner hours. The camp site also boasts a regulation Showdown
table, which was quite popular among the staff and students in their
free time last summer.

Please feel free to circulate the attached flyer to those who could
benefit. If you have questions please contact the email listed in the
flyer.

Thanks, and I hope to see some Ohio students there to brush up on
their cane skills.
