 Hello All,
The NFB Centers are an Immersion Experience. It's not forty hours a week, it is regular classroom experience plus opportunities to use skills and model other blind people. I understand that would be hard with children especially if you are the only caregiver.
NFB Centers were started in 1985 but they were modeled on the Iowa Commission for the Blind under Dictor Dr. Kenneth Jernigan.
When everyone is learning together and the staff actually interact with the students outside the classroom it makes a difference.
