Hi Marianne. Regarding your question about the NFB training center model I have another idea closely related to beds and breakfasts.
The training center model could be demonstrated annually at the national convention using the hotel rooms and surrounding area of the host city to recreate working/training days at the NFB training centers.
Home Management in a hotel room suite that has stove, microwave and refridgerator. The cost of the room could be off-set by participant workers who reside in the same room. Open it up at 9:00AM, maybe the suite next door has an adjoin room and therein is the travel office and Braille etc.
I am Steve from Texas and I told my aunt Luisa that I'd bring her a knickknack from the Atlanta Braves spring training compound in Orlando but I'm not certain how to go about doing this. So Steve maybe checks the schedule for the mobile NFB training centers occupying rooms ### and ### on the #th floor and discovers that on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a former graduate named Heidi or someone else will "train" with you in a route to the Atlanta Braves compound. Steve covers all costs and the trip should incorporate as much travel experience as possible.
Visiting professionals could see what it is all about. I'd bet there's several students enrolled at the centers right now who will be ready to take a lead role in the areas of training interest. Want an inexpensive lunch inside the hotel? The staff at the NFB training center suites will cook yours with you or something akin to this. It would be so much fun and the membership from the centers would all be gathered together and already on the same page.
