Dear JW,
Thank you so much for sharing this.
It actually lifted my spirits twice -- first when I read about what you had
done and, secondly, because she wrote such a lovely thank-you!
Kindness is so important. Expressing gratitude is, too.

Very lovely. Thank you so much for all you do.

Deborah

Dear NFBO Family, Friends and Colleagues:

I am sharing the message below with you not to "toot my own horn" or to show
what a great person I am, but to demonstrate how significant a random act of
kindness can impact another fellow human being!

I don't know about you, but some of the news and events lately really make
me want to do all that I can to be a positieve influence in the lives of all
that I meet and encounter in my journey through life these days.

Also, it made me smile and I hope that it makes you smile as well and
perhaps can help you have a wonderful day today ok?

READ ON!

Hi Dr. Smith,

Yesterday, I went to Whit's to complete an entry in my gratitude journal
over a cup of tea. I'm a graduate student in the College Student Personnel
and Critical Studies in Educational Foundations programs at OU. My income is
my graduate stipend, so it's always kind of a tough decision for me to
splurge on a treat out rather than staying home to enjoy a cheaper option,
especially in the summer when my stipend is not disbursed.

At Whit's, I got set up, made an intentional effort to relax and get into a
positive mindset for the week, and then learned that you had paid for my
drink. I genuinely appreciate that so much. Thank you!

I'm working with Dr. Pete Mather on a study that utilizes Positive
Psychology and Appreciative Education. We're plan to integrate acts of
kindness into our curriculum with our UC 1000 course this fall. Your act of
kindness will undoubtedly surface as a bright spot in my summer, and I'm
looking forward to sharing it with my students. Thank you again, Dr. Smith!

Best Regards,

Tessa Smith
