[Ohio-talk] My thoughts on Convention

Sheri,
Bob Pierce and a cast of ten braille-reading Federationists worked very hard
to provide Friday night entertainment. Although the play was held quite
late, 10:00 PM Friday, many were in attendance and money was raised to help
the work of the Ohio Association to Promote the Use of Braille and make a
substantial contribution to the affiliate.
Just saw your message regretting that you had forgotten Crystal and know you
would not mean to forget our fabulous director either.

Subject: [Ohio-talk] My thoughts on Convention

Good afternoon Fellow Federationists,

As your Vice President and Coordinator of the 70th annual state convention,
I want to thank all of you who were able to attend, participate in and help
make this year's convention such a wonderful experience.

I want to thank our President, Richard Payne, for putting together an agenda
that was filled with informative, interactive and dynamic presentations.
There was a great balance of speakers from within our affiliate and guests.
And speaking of our guests, we could not have been more fortunate and
honored to have had in our midst Anil Lewis, Dick Davis, Lee Martin and
Bryan Duarte.

I want to thank the Cuyahoga Chapter and Rachel Kuntz for making the
Registration process run smoothly, especially with the largest attendance we
have ever had.

I want to thank the Cleveland Chapter for running Hospitality throughout the
weekend and Game Night on Friday. You guys went above and beyond to make
sure our members had food, fun and a place to retreat.

I want to thank Macy McClain for chairing the Exhibits Committee and to
Rachel Kuntz for making sure we had the biggest and best Exhibit Hall that
we have ever had.

I want to thank Dr. JW Smith for lending us his talents as our Master of
Ceremonies at the Banquet. Nobody can do it like JW, am I right?!

I want to thank Cheryl Fields for setting up our Marshals and inviting the
Delta Gamma Fraternity to assist us. The Delta Gamma girls told me how
grateful they were for having the pleasure to meet all of you and having the
opportunity to serve. They were so charged up and said that they would never
forget their time with us!

For anyone that I have not mentioned, for anyone that pitched in to lend a
hand when you saw that one was needed, I want to thank you.

I would now like to ask that you take a minute to think about how convention
arrangements can be improved on for the future. I would ask that you email
me off list, so as not to jam up Ohio Talk, and give me suggestions on what
I can do to make future conventions a better experience for you. My email
address is sheri.albers87 at gmail.com. Thank you in advance for all your
comments, as I know there is always room for improvement.

Best Regards,

Sheri Albers, Vice President

National Federation of the Blind of Ohio
