James Brown put this on the affiliate list and I think it is a general
guide for chapter leaders.

This description is a guide for president's activities. The president may
do, or cause to have done, the following.

1.	Plan the chapter or division events for the year. If available, the
previous year's event calendar can be used as a reference.

2. The president should transcribe the notes he/she took in a meeting. .
These notes will have a presidential to do list. The president should
review this list to make sure that all the to do items are completed.

3. Make sure the minutes from the just-completed meeting are prepared. The
secretary should deliver the minutes within a week of the just-completed
meeting. Proof-read the minutes. Send out the minutes to the members for
proof-reading and fact-checking. Have these preliminary minutes posted to
the chapter website and newsline service.

4. Printout and store the minutes from the previous meeting.

5. Fill out the member's information spreadsheet, the paid-up-members
spreadsheet, and the E-mail addresses_ chapter_only list. Send a note to
the NFB of Tennessee web master to add any new members to the state members
list. Logon to Google groups, and add any new members to the NFB chapter
Google group list.

6. Send out welcome letters or emails to any new contacts, and follow-up
with them after the initial contact.

7. Subscribe to the NFB's chapter presidents' e-mail list.

8. Forward any pertinent e-mail messages to the chapter's Google group list.

9. Write the agenda for the next meeting. Copy the agenda from the just
completed meeting to provide a basis for the new agenda. Consult the
previous year's agenda and events calendar for agenda ideas.

10. Prepare the meeting announcement for the next meeting. Distribute the
announcement and agenda to the Newsline and chapter Website coordinators.
Send a note to the phone committee to contact members about the upcoming
Meeting.

11. The president should confirm that the phone committee had called the
membership before the next meeting.

12. Make sure the meeting room will be available for the next meeting.

13. Approximately two days before the next meeting, the president should
review the agenda and any other material the president will need for the
meeting.

14. The president should have a copy of the minutes and treasury report
which the president can present at the upcoming chapter meeting if
necessary.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back
