Hello Everyone,
Here is some important historic information about the leadership of our NFB-Ohio for the last 45 years or so from the Winter 2018 Buckeye Bulletin … Thanks a lot Barbara for a job superbly done!
*** Start here:
… Bob Eschbach was elected president at the 1973 NFB of Ohio convention. He was elected to the national board in July of 1974. He served until the 1984 convention, when he announced that he would not run again as president, and Barbara Pierce was elected. Bob was named assistant director of the Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) in February of 1985.
Barbara Pierce served as president for twenty-four years, until the fall of 2008, when Dr. J. Webster Smith was elected and served for four years. In 2012 Eric Duffy was elected president. He held that position until April 2016, when he left Ohio to take a job with the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. At that time Richard Payne became President, and he continues to serve in that office. …
*** End.
To read more about this and other great matters, go the Winter 2018 Buckeye Bulletin.
Enjoy!
Thanks Eric for providing such great piece of information about our NFB-Ohio leadership.
Have a great weekend and happy holidays y’all.
Ali
