Hello NFB-O,

Great news! I just received a call from Adam, from Representative Anne
Gonzales' office. He wanted to let me know that our Parental Rights bill, HB
309, is scheduled for its first proponent hearing on Tuesday morning, May 22
at 10:15 AM. I am waiting for the room location, as well as where to send
written testimony. I am giving you all this heads up, so you can make plans
to testify or to start preparing your written testimony. I will get back to
you as soon as I know more specifics. This is very exciting and I hope you
can join me on Tuesday at the hearing in support of this bill, and to show
the Ohio Senate that blindness should not be an "impediment to care for
minors."

Best Regards,

Sheri Albers, Vice President

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
