The time just sneaked up on me, but this is a reminder that the third of the seniors meetings for those of any age losing vision is Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. We will be talking about the beginning steps of learning to use a white cane and move around independently. This is a big topic. If we have lots of questions, we may take another week in June to talk about the subject. Please come, even if you feel sick when you think about independent travel. Talking with other people is your best defense.

The number to call is 712-775-7031, and the access code is 240281423 pound. Spread the word, and don’t forget to call in to ask your questions or just listen.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
