Yes, I am on the C.A.G. for R.T.A. in Dayton. I totally agree with you but
I rarely take Para-Transit because I do qualify for other independent
organizations. Some of the same issues of occur with them also because of
poor business operations and they are taking or cutting into the funds that
financially fund RTA. I have made suggestions with one organization about
return trips and it seems to be working. Rarely do I have to wait an hour
to get home or elsewhere.
Being a Senior helps also because being at least 62 has something to do with
non-medical trips.

Subject: [Ohio-talk] Requesting Written Format for Public Transportation
Hi Michael,
Can you give the List an idea on how to write a testimony on how public
transportation impacts an rider's life? Many of us take paratransit, but
whether it's available depends on regular bus and train routes. If the
buses and trains don't go to a location, neither does Paratransit. I take
buses and trains, and although I transfer from one conveyance to another,
that's not what irritates me. What really frustrates me is the waiting time
between connections. Often, I could wait up to an hour between a transfer,
which, aside from my frustration, also adds to how long it takes for me to
arrive at my destination. Ubers are a possibility, and at times, I take
them. I shouldn't need to resort to that, however. A city the size f
Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and even Dayton, should be able to provide
timely and efficient public transportation. The problem is that legislators
don't see the necessity of increasing transportation to the public. You
would be hard pressed to find any of them on a city bus or train, but this
is how the other half needs to get around.
Pardon my carrying on, but it would be great if you or Sheri could provide a
outline on how to write such a testimony.
Best Regards,
Milena
