Jordy,
It is helpful to know that the reason some people support this proposed chage has to do with access to intermediate care facilities. Thank you for this information.
Would you please tell us what an intermediate care facility is? Is a group home an intermediate care facility? If not, what is the difference between a group home and an intermediate care facility?
Has Disability Rights Ohio opposed State funding of intermediate care facilities, or have they opposed an increase in the number of such facilities in the State?
I'm just trying to understand the issue better. Thanks.
Cheryl

I’d like to echo Mike‘s sentiments. The individuals who are supporting this change are coming out in droves. Last I was told there were several stacks of petitions that had been laid on the table in the hearing room. Individuals that are supporting this thus far appear to be parents who want to see their children live in intermediate care facilities and we know that this is less than independent and for many of these individuals it is not necessary. It is critical that our legislature hears our position on this. Like Mike I am willing to assist in anyway I can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need to. Either way it is paramount that your voices be heard on this issue.
