Richard,
At the moment things are not going well for me. The treatments aren't
working as expected and on Monday morning I am headed back to the Cleveland
Clinic for additional testing. In the past few days I have developed a very
deep cough that causes great amount of pain in my chest, and I am constantly
short of breath. I can't walk 20 steps without having to stop and rest. My
lungs aren't absorbing the amount of oxygen they should so I have oxygen
tanks that I now rely on. They have a fear that this could develop into
pneumonia, so they may put a PICC line back in on Monday.
At this point in time I am not even sure if I will be able to travel to
Columbus for convention.
I am sorry, but I need to step away at the moment. I am expecting to return
home on Monday after all of my tests, but who knows, I could be admitted.

Best regards,
Jim

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back
