Hey Ohio, I would like to share that yesterday I was at the State Library in Columbus, and was appointed to the Consumer Advisory Committee for the state Braille and Talking Book program. I look forward to serving in this new role and I would like to thank Tracy Grimm, Head of Circulation and Special Services there at the state library, and Will Reed, Head of OLBPH, for the welcome they and others provided. Lots of really good and relevant info at the meeting yesterday which will be shared soon. This is especially good timing, as just this month we have started to work with a committee at the Main Akron Library where we often meet, on how best to update the resources in the library for blind and low-vision patrons. This is something I approached the library about a year ago after we met there a few times, so I'm excited to see things starting to progress. If anybody on the list has experience with this I very much welcome your input.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
