Roberto Cabrera
Roberto Cabrera is a Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for Deaf,
DeafBlind, Deaf-Disabled, Late-Deafened and Hard of Hearing (DDBDDLDHH). In
the evening hours Roberto is teaching American Sign Language at local
community colleges. Besides working in the big city in the west-Los Angeles,
Roberto is one of the California Association of the Deaf’s Employment
Taskforce Committee members and is a board member of California Manos del
Corazon.
During his off hours, Roberto Cabrera is active in leading discussions on a
wide range of mental health and social psychology topics within the
DDBDDLDHH community. As an active community member, Roberto has embraced his
intersectional identities -Second Generation DeafBlind, Dominican and Queer.
Roberto received his Master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis on
Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton and
his Bachelor’s degree in Human Service with an emphasis on Mental Health
from California State University, Fullerton. As an active person, Roberto
loves chatting with people and loves learning new technology to make life
easier.

Joana Lisboa currently serves as a Senior Consultant for CVS Health’s
Workforce Initiatives team, managing workforce development programming and
community partnerships on behalf of the enterprise within the 5 boroughs of
New York City and Long Island. She also has oversight of the NYC Workforce
Innovation, Talent Center located in the Chelsea area of Manhattan, one of
the four operational stores.
In her current role, Joana partners with community-based organizations,
educational institutions and more to provide youth, mature workers,
individuals with disabilities, veterans and other, diverse talent access to
meaningful employment opportunities. Joana joined the CVS Health team in
2006 as a Store Associate in Brooklyn, NY.

Kathy West-Evans
Kathy West-Evans is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) who is fluent
in American Sign Language. She has her MA in Public Administration and a
Bachelor of Science. Kathy started in the field of rehabilitation in 1978.
She worked in a community agency, for the Washington State Division of
Vocational Rehabilitation, the Region X office of the Rehabilitation
Services Administration and now leads the National Employment Team (NET) at
CSAVR (Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation).
Kathy is a member and past Chair of the Veterans Advisory Council on
Rehabilitation and a former Commissioner on the Commission on Rehabilitation
Counselor Certification. She has co-authored articles and delivered several
presentations focused on the employment of people with disabilities.
