The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.

Subject: [Ohio-Talk] Passage of HB 352 Please read
Stringers, Please pay attention to the information about Rep. Stewart. Let's
see if we can do some education somehow. Maybe a good project for Seocil.
Everyone else, if your Rep is now a co-sponsor, please thank him or her,
and now we are on to the Senate. It is worth noting that Representative Also
Cutrona changed his mind and supported the bill in the end.
The House records show that H.B. 352 was passed out of the House Civil
Justice Committee on November 17, 2021, by a vote of 11 to 2. The two No
votes were Representative Al Cutrona and Representative Brian Stewart.
Rep. Cutrona is a Republican from District 59 which covers most of Mahoning
County. Rep. Stewart is a first-term Republican from District 78 which
covers Hocking and Morgan Counties and portions of Athens, Fairfield,
Muskingum, and Pickaway Counties.
House records also show that HB 352 passed the House on December 8, 2021, on
a 90-1 vote. The sole No vote was Rep. Stewart. I double-checked and the
voting record shows that Cutrona switched his vote to a Yes vote on the
floor.
Here is a link to the archived video of the house vote
https://ohiochannel.org/video/ohio-house-of-representatives-12-8-2021 H.B.
352 appears about 1 hour and 52 minutes and 14 seconds into the video.
Representative Galonski presented the bill on the floor. Rep. Ray also
spoke on the bill. There was no presentation in opposition. The whole
presentation lasted about 5 minutes and it appeared that at the end a number
of Legislators added their names as co-sponsors.
The final co-sponsor list is:
Cosponsors: Representatives Brent, Crossman, Fowler Arthur, Galonski, Howse,
Ingram, Jarrells, John, Kelly, Lightbody, Lipps, Liston, Miller, A., Miller,
Just., Riedel, Seitz, Smith, Knowledge., Weinstein, White, Hillyer, Abrams,
Baldridge, Blackshear, Boggs, Boyd, Brown, Callender, Carfagna, Carruthers,
Click, Creech, Denson, Ghanbari, Ginter, Grendell, Gross, Hicks-Hudson,
Hoops, Humphrey, Jones, Lampton, Leland, Lepore-Hagan, Loychik, Manning,
Miranda, O'Brien, Pavliga, Plummer, Russo, Smith, More., Sobecki, Stein,
Sweeney, Sykes, Upchurch, West, Young.
