We must get HB 448 scheduled for a second hearing. If you did do it last week, please email the Chaiffman of the House INSURANCE Committee Representative Thomas Brinkman and ask him to schedule a second hearing for HB 448. You don't need to write testimony just ask for a second hearing.

rep27 at ohiohouse.gov

Calling the office will be a big help as well. 614-644-6886

We need at least 15 contacts made to this office early this week. Please do your part to help us move this Bill.

Thanks.

William H. Turner Piggies are calling your name. I hear them, don't you? The men on the Board of Directors need you to join us and purchase your Pigs for the Piggiests Raffle Ever. You are the only man who hasn't done it. It doesn't matter how many you buy, just do what you can. After you make you puofchase, we are going to give the women on the Board a chance to make history during Women's history month. Come on William Have! Women get ready!

Actually, Mr. Duffy is only partially right. Yes, we need Mr. Turner to
join us in purchasing Pigs, but we also need everyone else to join us in
purchasing Pigs and to share the Piggest Raffle with your friends,
coworkers, and anyone else you think could benefit from potentially winning
$10,000.  Remember each Pig (ticket) for the raffle is only $5 and the NFB
of Ohio receives 100% of the Pig (ticket) purchase price. So this is a
great opportunity for us to raise money to help fund our work changing what
it means to be blind in Ohio.  http://piggestraffleever.com/ Tickets will
be on sale until Saturday, April 30, 2022 and the drawing will be held by
the Flying Pig Marathon on Sunday, May 1, 2022.  So, let's get the word out
about this fantastic chance to win big money and raise funds for the
organization so that we can raise at least $3000 this year.

Good afternoon!  Mr. Duffy intended to say that if you did not send emails
last week calling on Representative Brinkman to schedule a second hearing
on H.B. 448, please do so by tomorrow morning. If you have already sent an
email, there is no need to send a second one.  But if you haven't sent one
yet, we need you to do so because we need to remind Chairman Brinkman of
the importance of keeping H.B. 448 moving so that it can pass the
legislature this year. As Mr. Duffy stated, Chairman Brinkman can be
emailed at rep27 at ohiohouse.gov. Let's flood his email with calls to hold
the second hearing so that he schedules H.B. 448 for the next House
Insurance Committee meeting.

National Federation of the Blind of Ohio

76th Annual Convention

November 4th-6th, 2022

Millennium: Honoring The Past, Treasuring The Present, Shaping The Future

Richard Payne, President

As some of you know, our Affiliate president has been working on a location for the 2022 State of Ohio Convention. This announcement is to inform you that the location has been confirmed.

Here is the announcement by the Ohio Affiliate President, Richard Payne.

It is my pleasure to provide you with information on our location for the 2022 NFBO State Convention. Although, it took some time to secure, I wanted to ensure that all of our needs were met. It is important to me that every member and those who wish to attend have an opportunity to come and partake of all that the convention and the federation has to offer. Therefore, Researching and negotiating on    specific accommodations for our group requirements, expectations and needs have been challenging. I have met with countless hotels in Cincinnati, Columbus, Toledo and Cleveland. However, the Doubletree by Hilton in Independence Ohio was the top choice. They have the amenities and space to hold the 76th Annual State of Ohio Convention.

Subsequently, the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio provides encouragement and motivation to families with blind children and to people who are losing vision or have become blind later in life. The Convention will be an opportunity for participants to learn about accessible technology from our Technology Fair, tips on living with blindness by attending educational seminars and more.

The 2022 Annual Convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio (NFBOH) will be the largest gathering of blind people in the state. I encourage you to begin making preparations to be there the weekend of November 4th, 5th and 6th of 2022.  Our 76th Convention will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 6200 Quarry Ln., Independence, Ohio 44131, (216) 447-1300. You now can reserve your room for $104 per night Plus tax. Call 1.855.610.8733.
