Houston’s local para transit service
Greetings fellow federationists!
Houston’s local paratransit service is called MetroLift. Here is information for you to set up a temporary certification to use the service.
If you have active status with your local paratransit service in the city you reside, you will need to have your local service fax in your eligibility status in to MetroLift eligibility department for reviewing. That fax number is 713-652-8924, attention eligibility.
If you would like to check on the status of the receipt of your information, call the customer service line at 713-225-0119 and press option 0 to talk to a live person.
If they have receive your eligibility information, you will be provided with a client Identification number for scheduling trips.
To schedule trips, the number to call to make reservations is 713-225-6716. Reservations are only open on week days between 8am and 5pm.
Houston’s MetroLift service only can book rides one day in advance. For example, if you need to book a trip on a Tuesday, you will need to call in to reservations on Monday between 8am and 5pm. However, if you are making trip reservations to travel on a Monday, you will need to call reservations on Friday.
By calling in on Friday between 8am and 5pm, trips can be scheduled for the entire weekend, and for the upcoming Monday.
If you need to cancel any trips, MetroLift Dispatch will have to be call by dialing 713-225-0410. That number is available at all times. It is also the same number to call to check on the status of your scheduled trips.
The cost to ride MetroLift is $1.25 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the local Kroger’s grocery stores, Fiesta-Mart, Randall’s, or the ride store located on the first floor of the Metro office.
