You Can Live The Life You Want; Blindness Is Not What Holds You Back.

 

All seniors 50 years of age or older are invited to attend the 2023 Senior
Division Business Meeting that will take place during the third Sunday in
September at 6:30 PM. The information to join the meeting is below.

 

The Ohio Senior Division is a part of the oldest blind movement with the
purpose to serve as a division of the National Federation of the Blind of
Ohio; to be a vehicle for collective action for the senior blind of the
state; to function as a mechanism through which the blind and interested
sighted persons can come together to plan and carry out programs to improve
the quality of life of the blind seniors of Ohio; to promote the vocational,
cultural, and social advancement of the senior blind of Ohio; to achieve the
integration of the senior blind into society on a basis of equality with the
sighted; to focus attention on the problems faced by the blind senior
citizens of Ohio; and to take any other action which will improve the
overall condition and standard of living of the blind seniors of Ohio.  

 

We also encourage anyone who is 50 years or older and would like to join the
division to pay $5 dues no later than January 31, 2024 if you are not
attending the 77th Annual Ohio State Convention in Columbus Ohio. This
timeline is important, due to the newly online process for updating members
in a current status. Where and how to pay dues is in the announcement below.

 

Announcements:

 

The monthly Sharing Solutions for Vision Loss teleconference will take place
Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 7:15 p.m. on zoom. Our topic will educate
members about the importance of exercising to maintain good health. You do
not have to be a senior or member to join the meeting. Two door prizes will
be given away that will pay Pre-Registration cost at the Ohio State
Convention. You could be a winner!

 

Also, the Ohio Senior Division is offering an opportunity to win $200 by
adding your name in our annual drawing. You can now purchase a chance prior
to the State of Ohio Convention by sending funds to our Treasurer, Gloria
Conway by mail or Zelle .

Each chance of a ten dollar purchase get you closer to winning the pot.

Anyone can purchase a chance and you do not have to be present to win!

 

Note: if you purchase a chance by Zelle, in the comment field, indicate the
funds are for the "Senior Drawing". Conveniently, now you also can pay your
dues by Zelle. There is only a 50 cent fee. So include that in all
transactions.

Here are the ways to purchase a chance:

1. Mail Gloria at,16008 Evening Star Ave, Maple Heights, Ohio 44137 and make
checks payable to NFB of Ohio Senior Division.

2. By selecting Zelle, use   the email address: edgarsfarm at aol.com
<mailto:edgarsfarm at aol.com>  and in the comments field, write Senior
Drawing.

3. Lastly, "Bill Pay" through your financial institution is a third option.
However, the bank check must also be made out to NFB of Ohio Senior Division
and not the Treasurer's name.
