This blog was lots of fun. It sounds as if you are off to a good start. I have one comment for your consideration. You have a new guide dog. Her job is to guide you. She is finding her way. As your guide she is in charge of getting you there safely with your commands. She is not leading you. The leader is the brains of the pair. My money is on you as having the more extensive brain. You are in charge. You are the boss. Leading suggests that the leader is in charge. You have a new guide dog and friend. Don’t give her the lead position.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise expectations for blind people because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and their dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
