 You will find  attached and in the body of this message Auction Guidelines
for the Auction items at the state convention if you have any questions
direct them to me off list.


Guidelines for the Annual National Federation of the Blind of Ohio
Fundraising Auction
Intent and Purpose:
The annual National Federation of the Blind of Ohio fundraising auction is a
cherished tradition, aiming to raise funds for the NFB Ohio affiliate. This
event is a testament to our community's collective commitment to the hopes
and dreams of the nation's blind. We believe that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines one's future, and through events like this, we
raise the expectations of blind people, breaking down barriers and fostering
dreams.
Family-Friendly Event:
Aligned with the principles of the National Federation of the Blind, this
auction is designed to be a family-friendly event, held in conjunction with
our annual state convention. We aim to create an environment that is
welcoming, respectful, and inclusive for all attendees, regardless of age or
background.
Donation Guidelines:
All items donated to the auction must be family-friendly. Donors are kindly
requested to provide clear information about their donations, including full
descriptions of items in both print and braille. This ensures transparency
and understanding for potential bidders. Examples of un-family friendly
items include contraband and erotic devices. If there is a question on
whether an item is not appropriate for this event, please contact an elected
leader of the NFB of Ohio. This not only maintains the integrity of our
event but also ensures that all participants can engage in the auction with
confidence and enthusiasm. We respect differences of opinion, beliefs, and
identities, and we expect all donations and interactions to reflect this
commitment to mutual respect and understanding.
We trust that these guidelines will help ensure a successful, enjoyable, and
meaningful event for all involved. Let's come together to support the
mission of the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio and make a positive
impact on our community.
