The social security administration has a few ways of dealing with overpayments and even if you work many expenses can be counted towards your reducing your earnings like vacation sick leave FMLA and depending on your method of transportation it also can be counted. 

The problem with most issues that we have with them is filing appeals and asking for reconsiderations on time.  I would be glad to talk with anyone about this if they contact me off list also, we have a few members that have worked for the social security department and a few who have fought to keep benefits.

I’ve been having this problem since last fall. I was misinformed about the Ticket to Work requirements when I told the representative I was working, and now I owe a significant amount in overpayment.
