Mentoring and Outreach Workgroup
We invite all to join the Mentoring and Outreach Workgroup on September 1,
2024 at 5:00 PM EDT, as we welcome Jason Broughton, Director, of the
National Library Service for the Blind. Mr. Broughton has graciously agreed
to share expertise on how to become an intentional, and yet a more effective
communicator when public speaking, networking and during outreach efforts.
Here are a few questions to ponder prior to our meeting.
1. Have you ever recorded your speech and did not like what you heard?
2. Has your voice changed with age, a medical procedure or when you are
nervous preventing you from saying the ends of words and all parts of
syllables?
3. When asked to give a speech, did you take the time to research, and know
your audience?
4. Do you know your professional and personal message when interviewing for
employment or networking?
These are just a few topics that will be discussed on September 1, 2024, at
5:00 PM EDT. On zoom.
Spread the word and come prepared to take notes.
